Thaddeus Joseph, a 32 year old resident of Kado Estate, FCT Abuja, has been arrested by the FCT Police Command, for cultivating a large commercial farm of leaves, suspected to be cannabis sativa, popularly called Indian hemp.
In a voluntary statement, the suspect, confessed to having been in the business of farming Indian hemp, for about 2 years.
According to DSP Josephine Adeh, FCT police spokesperson,Thaddeus Joseph, was arrested on the heels of credible information that the suspect cultivates a large farm of Leaves suspected to be Cannabis sativa on a piece of land at Godab Estate in the Life camp area of the FCT.
Consequent to the above, a team of the Command’s Intelligence Assets attached to the Anti-Narcotics Section swung into action and apprehended the suspects which lead to the discovery of the farm and removal of the exhibits.
The command has perfected necessary arrangements for the forwarding of exhibits and the suspect to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)
