The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the shifting of the date of 2023 General Election. The election was scheduled to commence on February 18 2023.
But with the signing of the Electoral Act 2022 by President Mohammadu Buhari, late this week, INEC said the February 18, 2023 date is no longer feasible due to a provisions in the newly signed Electoral Act 2022.
The electoral body said the 2023 Presidential election election will now be held on Saturday February 25, 2023, while the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will hold two weeks later on Saturday 11th March 2023.
