The two major parties in Nigeria, the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are not taking the upcoming FCT Area Council Election with velvet glove. For the parties, it is fight to finish and a referendum on their acceptance ahead of 2023 General Election.
To lead APC assault team, is Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State. He is the chairman of the National Campaign Council of APC for the FCT Area Council Election.
The 131 member Council was inaugurated on Monday at International Conference Centre Abuja by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, who was represented by Senator Yusuf Abubakar.
He charged the Council to work for the party’s victory in the forthcoming election.
One Thursday last week, PDP constituted a 34 man National Campaign Council headed by Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State while
Governor Seyi Makinde is the Secretary.
PDP’s National Campaign Council, is made up of mostly governors, serving and “retired.”
Some members of PDP National Campaign are; Nyesom Wike, Aminu Tambuwal, Bala Mohammed, Enyinnaya Abaribe, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Walid Jibrin, David Mark, and Bukola Saraki.
Reacting to this development, ADC Candidate for Usuma Ward, urged members not to sell their votes and if money is given to them, they should collect it but vote in credible persons with integrity to represent them.
He appealed to voters to turn out and peacefully cast their vote for his party, ADC.
