The Senegalese national coach, Aliou Cisse, said, “We are on the way to our objective of winning the title this Sunday evening. We must focus on the final, play it well, and thus succeed in our match. We will have to take advantage of the moment. We lost two finals in the past, but this time we will approach the match with more determination.”
Kalidou Koulibaly on his part, promised to offer the trophy to the Senegalese people.
The Pharos of Egypt, have won the Cup 7 times while the Lions of Teranga have made 16 appearances at AFCON but they are yet to win the title.
All eyes will be on two Liverpool players, Mohammed Salah and Sadi Manè to lift the spirit of their nation and seal their name in the annals of their nations hall of heroes.
Salah has scored two goals and registered one assist for Egypt, while Mane has scored three goals and recorded two assists for Senegal.
Most residents of Kubwa, who will watch the match at viewing centers, will be cheering for Senegal not only in show of West African solidarity but as “a beef” against Egypt because Nigeria was eliminated by Tunisia, a North African country.
