ECHEZOKWANA THE PRINCIPLE OF UNITATEM (UNITY).
Today is your first official working day as the Mayor of Nnewi North LGA. Therefore, it is my honour and sincere wish that we succeed because we have all it takes to succeed with this principle of UNITATEM.
Hon. Sir, UNITATEM is the Latin word for UNITY, which is “idinaotu”
Brother, with this UNITATEM, the major problem of the entire South Eastern states not only Anambra or Nnewi in particular will be solved.
We can’t go back and change the beginning, but we can start where we are and change the ending by uniting and having a common purpose to move Nnewi forward without any excuses.
With UNITY, our security system will be improved, the rule of law enhanced, and citizens will be happy going about their legitimate duties, bearing in mind that the rule of law works.
Then we are assured that infrastructures executed shall be protected because our people will own and cherish the projects as their own, not government property.
We can achieve this task before us and change the narrative of arrogance in power and greed, which is an insatiable and inordinate desire for wealth and acquisition.
With UNITATEM, transparency and accountability in government will attract people of goodwill to raise money willingly for the development of Nnewi regardless of allocation.
Brother, Ani Igbo, and Nnewi, in particular, is the richest place on the planet because since July 15, 1966 , to date, the dreams, ambitions, and aspirations of our people buried in the grave are more than Nigeria crude oil. And this is the time to put a stop to the killings.
Echezokwana, this is not a time for rhetoric or listening to praise singers and sycophants or ostentatious or glamorous lifestyle of any kind.
But this is a moment to take a deep retrospect and a sober reflection on how we will bring back our value system.
As we assumed office today, we have set up our goals, and to accomplish these goals, we must take responsibility.
We must not be afraid of taking risks by collapsing all the different security operatives in Nnewi into one unified, purposeful, and effective one.
We must continue to appreciate and recognize our competitive advantage of our solid pillar, High Chief Mmirimarugo/ Omekannaya, who is selfless and desires only to see Nnewi becoming a mega city in his life time.
We must recognize the opportunities and have the courage to pursue them, maka odinma Nnewi.
My brother “echezokwana ebe isi puta njem a” avoid the negative influence of other people and surround yourself with people that have the well-being of Ndi Nnewi at heart.
We shall engage other relevant stakeholders in making sure that we succeed in this mission because whenever there is a will, there is a way.
With the principle of UNITATEM (idinato), poignantly and strongly manifested by Prince Jude Osumuo (Uzuakpondu) and Austin Emmanuel Jidiofor (Nkeonye) we shall make Nnewi great again.
