FORMER NATIONAL WELFARE SECRETARY AND CURRENT MEMBER GENERAL COUNCIL OF THE NIGERIA BAR ASSOCIATION ON THE CANDIDATURE OF MAZI AFAM OSIGWE, SAN.
MAZI AFAM OSIGWE SAN, is well known to me, most particularly his activities within the bar. Our part first crossed when Afam and I were both Prosecutors at the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) of the Nigeria Bar Association between 2012 – 2014. I thereafter worked intensely for his emergence as the General Secretary of the bar where he served outstandingly between 2016 to 2018 with proven innovations that now adorn the bar with pride.
Afam and myself were members of the National Executive Council of the Nigeria Bar from 2013 to 2018 where he always made meaningful contributions towards the progress of the bar. I have followed with keen interest his trajectory from when he was an average legal practitioner to becoming a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and now a Life Bencher.
Given the foregoing, I can attest to Afam Osigwe’s competence and capacity to deliver the much needed leadership for the Nigeria Bar Association. The bar represents courage, activism and commits to social justice. Afam is undoubtedly a carrier of these special traits.
As we proceed to casting our votes come 20th July, 2024 to elect the President of our great bar, I implore you to commit to electing Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN, a bar we all can be proud of.Joshua Enemali Usman, Esq. was a Prosecutor LPDC 2012-2014, Secretary Lokoja Branch, 2016-2018, National Welfare Secretary, 2018-2020 and Current Member, General Counsel of the Bar.
