Sebastian Ubuah Anyia is a well baked Bar leader. He came from the grassroots and went through the ladder, to the top of Bar leadership of the Frontline Bar.
Very early in his Bar activism, he was officially crowned Bar Footsoldier due to his uncommon reach, commitment and versatility.
He served Aguata branch (Frontline Bar) variously as Public Relations Officer, Chair, Young Lawyers Forum, Financial Secretary, Welfare Secretary, General Secretary and finally Branch Chairman.
While the Branch Chairman, he was elected Chairman of Chairmen of 8 Bar branches in Anambra State.
He has the singular honor of being the first and only non indigene to ascend the office of Chairman of the Frontline Bar; he being from Cross River State. This attests to his detribalized nature and superabundant ability to freely relate and mingle. One legacy among many, that I won’t forget in this recommendation message is that the onerous responsibility of completing the then ongoing Dr Alex Ekwueme Bar Center fell on him. He swung into a lion-like action.
He didn’t just complete the superstructure, he exquisitely furnished the Bar Centre and inaugurated it, before the effluxion of his two year tenure.
SU, as he is fondly called, has an uncommon capacity to relate with the young, the old, the high and the low. He has thus captured the hearts of hundreds of colleagues in various sub regional Bar groups and national level.
I present to you gentlemen of the Bar, this uncommon Bar leader, as best suited for the office of 1st Vice President of Nigeria Bar Association.
