He later became the Chairman of Abuja Branch of the Nigeria Bar Association.

He later contested an election and won a seat in the House of Senate of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria.
At the Senate, he served diligently as the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee.
Senator Abubakar Sodangi Danso, was so interested in the growth of the Bar and its activities. He became the Pioneer Chairman of the African Bar Association (Nigeria Forum).
He played vital roles in AFBA and was called a bridge builder across the Continent of Africa. He was part of those who fought for the enthronement of Rule of Law and Democracy in Nigeria and across the Continent of Africa.
