NBA Bori: Idris A.Shehu Admitted Into NEC

NBA NEC ENDORSES IDRIS ABAYOMI SHEHU, ESQ. AS CHAIRMAN, NBA, BORI BRANCH, WARNS ONE MR. JOEL DIDI TO STOP HIS SELF IMPOSITION FORTHWITH, THE BRANCH CALLS ON THE JUDICIARY TO EXPEDITIOUSLY DETERMINE MATTERS IN COURT.

The National Executive Council of the Nigerian Bar Association, in its 1st quarter meeting for 2024, held on the 29th day of February 2024, at the Gowon Hall, Crispan Hotel, Jos, Plateau State, has reconfirmed the IDRIS ABAYOMI SHEHU, ESQ. led Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, Bori Branch, as the authentic executive committee of the branch, and has issued a stern warning to one Mr. Joel Didi, an impostor who has continued to unlawfully hold himself out and misrepresented himself as the chairman of the branch, to desist henceforth or face serious legal sanctions in line with extant laws. (See Communique of the NBA NEC held in Jos.)

You will recall that the said Joel Didi has been parading himself as the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Bori Branch, since his failure to qualify for election to the exalted office of the Bar on obvious constitutional grounds, including non payment of Bar Practice Fees and Branch Dues, non attendance of meetings & important activities of the Branch and also falsification/mutilation of branch documents.

Felix Chukwuma Ashimole, Esq., co-publisher Kubwaexpress is consulting to serve NBA as Publicity Secretary 2024-2026.

In December 2022, he, in connivance with few members of the branch and First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Plc. withdrew over #50,200,000.00 (Fifty Million, Two Hundred Thousand Naira) only belonging to the Nigerian Bar Association, Bori Branch, and has long squandered the money without any authority to deal with such huge stress of money belonging to the branch. This was done during the pendency of a matter he instituted against the Incorporated Trustees of Nigerian Bar Association and its officers, which same is still pending to date.
For the umpteenth time, we use this medium to call on Mr. Joel Didi to return the money he stole, together with any other property of the Nigerian Bar Association, Bori Branch in his custody or risk maximum criminal charges initiated against him for wanton offences against the Bar and the State.
We further advise members of the public, including all authorities in Nigeria and beyond, to refrain from dealing with Mr. Joel Didi, in the name or on behalf of Nigeria Bar Association, Bori Branch, as anyone who deals with him does so at his/her own peril and detriment. NOTE IMPORTANTLY: This release further serves as the last warning to the said Joel Didi to stop parading himself as Chairman NBA BORI BRANCH.
In the same spirit, pursuant to the resolution of the National Executive Council of the Nigerian Bar Association under reference, The NBA, Bori Branch posits without prejudice to the matter in Federal High Court against First City Monument Bank, that it is now crystal and abundantly clear that First City Monument Bank Plc. in collusion and connivance with Mr. Joel Didi fraudulently converted over #50,200,000.00 (Fifty Million, Two Hundred Thousand Naira) only of the Incorporated Trustees of Nigerian Bar Association money donated to the Bori Branch.
Thus, we call on all relevant agencies, including the Ethics Committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria (EC-CBN), The Economic & Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), etc. to investigate the criminal conversion of fund belonging to the Nigerian Bar Association, Bori Branch, carried out by FCMB and Joel Didi because the duty of due diligence was placed on First City Monument Bank to verify the true status of the composition of the chairman and other executive members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Bori Branch.
We further call on the judiciary to expeditiously determine the merit of the matters in court, which have suffered a lot of adjournments since inception, so to put a rest on the kind of interim order given by the court that has been abused in every manner, even by a bank who is not party to the suit.

Signed: ©️BENJAMIN TAMBARI, ESQ.

NBA, BORI BRANCH.
