LAWYER, OLUMIDE SONUPE ESQ. RELEASED FROM THE GAOL OF MOSHALASHI POLICE STATION, GOWON ESTATE AFTER BEING DETAINED FOR 60 HOURS FOR PERFORMING HIS PROFESSIONAL DUTIES.
Ayo Ademiluyi, Esq., speaking on behalf of Newworth LLP, said, “we are glad to report that our colleague, OLUMIDE SONUPE ESQ., who is detained at the Moshalashi Police Station at the behest of the Divisional Police Officer, a certain Mr. Arase for performing his professional obligations by visiting his client at the Police Station has been released after the monumental pressure mounted on him. Mr. Olumide Shonupe who spoke to me after his release expressed appreciation to all colleagues and members of the Public who intervened.
We are of the further view that the appropriate organs of the Nigerian Bar Association set in motion appropriate actions against DPO Moshalashi Police Station, CSP Austin Arase with Mobile Number, 08068503381 to ensure that the Police High Command bring him to book for this untoward action .
