The returning officer for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Professor Sani Saka, has announced the cancellation of the results for the FCT senatorial election held in Abaji Area Council. According to Prof. Saka, “He said, “We are rejecting the Abaji results because the total number of valid votes cast is higher than the number of accredited voters. So, we are cancelling these results because of over voting.”
As at the time of this report, of the six area councils in the FCT, the returning officer had only collated senatorial election results from Bwari area council and there are indications that the entire Senatorial results from the others, will suffer same fate with Abaji Area Council.
