You can’t take away his landmarks on the concrete sands of NBA. Since he left office, his house, office, is a Mecca and you must visit him like a pilgrim to Jesus’ tomb in Israel.
He gave me my first bite at national NBA’s cherry.
Once he is around, I must visit him to show appreciation. Funny enough, he is abreast with all my wahala in NBA but has never judged me or outrightly condemned me.
Like a loving father talking to a prodigal son, he reasons me through my errors.
I appreciate my friendship with him and yes, Afam Osigwe was instrumental.
It was days after we shutdown Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). I got a summons to NBA Secretariat, that NBA President wanted to see me.
We met and struck a relationship. He said, NBA is here to serve you. If you have any issue, come to NBA and stop making it look like NBA doesn’t care.
Throughout his tenure, NBA cared. And all past Presidents after him that I offended, had reported me to him and like a real godfather, he talks to me in a soft firm language, that I won’t miss the finality of his “advice.”
Meanwhile, the brunch was lovely at his pool house. Big man must have a lion heart to accommodate and know that riches are burden on you to help the less fortunate.
But before I could finish drinking my brunch, the EBF Governor arrived on pilgrimage. What we discussed? I don’t kiss and tell but know that, we looked into the calabash of 2024 and by divination, can tell the minds of the gods.
