The 2022 Edition of the Annual General Conference (AGC) of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), kicks off today at Eko Hotel and Eko Atlantic City.
The opening ceremony is broken into two because of the massive number of lawyers who registered for the conference and the posh luxurious Eko Hotel, dose not have capacity to cater for the conferees.
To solve this, the LOC, balloted those who will be in Eko Hotel and those who will “watch” the opening ceremony in the Arabian tents on the sandy sinking sands of Eko Atlantic City.
The first 4000 participants to collect their Conference materials, will have the privilege to be in Eko Hotel.
This separation, when all Conferees paid the same required conference fee, has not gone down well with lawyers.
All manner of innuendos and aspersions have been cast on the organizers of this year’s Conference but we pray that it will not snowball into open air rebellion.
It is not all knocks for the organizers though. Lawyers are happy with the quality of bag given and the orderly manner in which the materials were seamlessly delivered.
But some other lawyers queried what is bold about this transitions, if the papers to be delivered by guest speakers are not front loaded in this era of è-driven technology in the wake COVID-19 protocol new reality?
