Forgery; Jere Acting Comptroller General of Immigration Indicts The Presidency

The Acting Comptroller General of Immigration, Isah Jere Idris whose tenure was extended for one year in 2021, has in a bizarre, corrupt manner, turned up at Immigration Headquarters, Airport Road, Lugbe Abuja, with a letter purporting was written by the president, giving him another lease of life to continue acting as the Comptroller General of Immigration.

Our source reports that Isah Jere Idris had on Friday 25th April, packed all his personal belongings from the office. Before the rank and file of Immigration could celebrate his retirement, he resurfaced on Monday 25th, claiming that the President, had renewed his acting capacity for another one year.

Since his submerging, he has been putting pressure of the Minister of Interior to act on the letter, which is believed to be forged and never emanated from the Presidency.

Marathon meetings had been held at Ministry of Interior, with the Ministry insisting that there is no Memo from the presidency directing that Jere Isah Idris continue in office as Acting Comptroller General of Immigration.

In a letter exclusively obtained by Kubwaexpress, FORWARDING OF THE LIST OF OFFICERS AND MEN DUE FOR RETIREMENT BETWEEN 15 JANUARY AND 31st DECEMBER, 2022

Jere Isah Idris, is the first person on the list of those due to retire this year and his retirement was due on 24-04-2022, hence his packing his personal belongings out of office on Friday, the last working day before Sunday 24.

We are also reliably informed that he had handed over to the next most senior officer.

His reappearance on Monday 25th April to lay claim on the post of Acting Comptroller General of Immigration, is causing restiveness and there is a looming breakdown of law and other.

An Officer we spoke to, said that the continuous presence of Jere within the premises of Nigerian Immigration Services, is a security risk and he should be arrested, bounded out of the premises and prosecuted for forgery.

Another staff, alleged that Jere had been serially doctoring his age and call on the Minister of Interior, to investigate documents submitted by men and officers of Immigration Services to avoid a repeat of the national embarrassment Jere had become.

An anti-corruption crusader we spoke with, insisted that if President Buhari is serious about fight against corruption, he should not re-appoint a man who has by virtue of age of service no longer fit to occupy any position in Immigration. He called on the ICPC to commence probe of Jere Isah Idris.
