VIO To Impound Rickety Cars On Abuja Roads

Sequel to the hint that his directorate will crush about 1,500 impounded motorcycles (Okada), the newly appointed Director of FCT Directorate of Road Traffic Services, Dr Abdulateef Bello has said that his men has commenced the process of impounding and removing rickety vehicles from plying roads in the nation’s capital.

He said, “FCT is the pride of Nigeria, as a country and we want to make sure that we create a very good impression. So anything that will have negative value on the  aesthetics of the city should be taken away, that’s the reason why we have to address this, especially  the heavy smoking cars and other cars  capable of causing environmental hazards. They are not fit to be on our roads and would be rid of them from the territory.”

Bello failed to define what is a rickety car or at what age will a car be considered unworthy of Abuja roads.

According to a resident of Abuja, Bello, a retired Director of DSS, was appointed to implement these inhumane policies and plunge Abuja residents further into poverty.
