Mr. Bassey Amah, the Head of Medical Records at Kubwa General Hospital, while testifying at a Lagos State Special Offences Court, holden at Ikeja, revealed that Femi Fani-Kayode, was never a patient of the hospital, that the hospital has no record of any Femi Fani-Kayode.
Femi Fani-Kayode, former aviation minister, is facing 12 count charges of forgery. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), is alleging that Fani-Kayode forged medical reports to mislead the court and procuring documents under false pretenses contrary to Section 369 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state 2015.
While answering questions from EFCC counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, the head medical records said, “On October 3rd, 2021, the Kubwa General Hospital received a letter from the EFCC to investigate the authenticity of a medical report on Mr Femi Fani-Kayode and the investigation by the hospital revealed that Mr Fani-Kayode does not have a record with the facility. The document is not authentic.” He further said, “The doctor that signed the medical report is not our doctor. The number is not our hospital unit number.”
